Baxter Construction Company has reached many milestones throughout its 70 years of operation; but October 8th 2014 benchmarked a different scale of growth for the company with the addition of a new office in Des Moines Iowa. Baxter Construction held a Grand Opening ceremony that featured an open house and a ribbon cutting by The Honorable Governor Terry Branstand along with 3 of the 4 generations of the Baxter family; Frank Baxter, Tony Baxter, and Michael Baxter.

He truly cares about and supports small businesses in Iowa and we should all be so proud to call him our Governor and I truly thank him.”
“Coming from such a small town as Fort Madison our family had often traveled to Des Moines and I always told my father that someday we would be working in Des Moines. Well that someday is today and our company has now completed several projects in Des Moines and the Des Moines area in addition to already having a number of employees who live there.” Tony Baxter continues, “My family and I are so proud of our employees who have worked so hard to build our company to the scale it is today with the capability to be working in this larger market. Baxter Construction Company has made its own mark on the downtown Des Moines Skyline with the completion of a two hotel, the Hampton Inn and Residence Inn, and parking garage complex. Other notable Des Moines area projects include Campus View and Campus Town Student Housing developments and DMACC Health Sciences Center all in Ankeny Iowa, and Waukee Elementary School and Shottenkirk Waukee in Waukee Iowa. Baxter Construction’s strong gaming presence is noted throughout the state as well: Grand Falls Casino Resort, Larchwood Iowa; Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, Riverside Iowa; Catfish Bend Casino, Burlington Iowa; and the future Rhythm City Casino in Davenport Iowa. Baxter also specializes in the hospitality and multi-family industries and has worked in multiple states completing numerous projects such a Towneplace Inn & Suites and Courtyard in Grapevine Texas and Ashland Place Townhomes in Canton Illinois to name a few.
