Baxter Construction Company began building the Residence Inn at Coralville for the Hawk City Lodging Inc. of Burlington, IA on November 23, 2011, and construction was completed on June 22, 2012. This Residence Inn followed Marriott International Beacon Generation 8 design standards. This project is a beautiful and expansive extended stay facility consisting of 72,700 SF, featuring (100) Studio, One Bedroom, and Two Bedroom guest room suites; a large pool and spa area, a spacious fitness center, a large entry gatehouse with guest services, an open hearth area and televisions, 3 study pods, a large meeting room, a sizable breakfast area, an outdoor putting green, and an outdoor fire-pit/grill area. Also within this unique design, each room is equipped with a full kitchen, appliances, and striking decors. The facade of the building presents a natural color pallet consisting of EIFS, think-brick, and cultured stone. Total completion time for this build was a record-setting 7-months; the fastest Residence Inn build of this size recorded to-date by Marriott International, and it was 100% occupied on opening weekend. A true success story for all involved!
